Beginning Strings Conservatory

In 1997, with the virtual disappearance of string instrument instruction in our public schools, the Beginning Strings Conservatory was formed to offer students of all ages the opportunity to explore violin, viola, cello, and bass in a group lesson once a week.

Since that time, Coachella Valley Symphony has integrated the Beginning Strings Conservatory into all three school districts, beginning with Desert Sands Unified in 1997, Palm Springs Unified in 2004, and most recently with the addition of Coachella Valley Unified School District.

Students who have completed two years of the Beginning Strings Conservatory are invited to join the Buddy Rogers Youth Symphony.
